PROGRESS
These were my 2 main options for my front cover but i couldn't decide which one best suited my magazine. Therefore i published the pictures on Facebook and asked people which photo they prefered. The majority of people prefered the first picture of the female model and felt like it matched my masthead 'PRESTIGE' better than the other image.
PROGRESS
This was one of my options for my front cover image, however i noticed that the original picture (top picture) had the girl's arm showing. I felt like this ruined this effect of the image as you are not meant to see any part of the person behind's body apart from their hands. Therefore i edited it out using the magic wand tool and quick selection tool to remove her arm from the picture. After this i used the blur tool to make it look less sharp and edited. I also adjusted the lighting in the picture.
PROGRESS
As you can see, the original image for my front cover had an initially had an off-grey background however, as i wanted to move the image further down the page, i had to delete the background around my model to make it a plain white colour and also blur the outline of the model. This way it blended in with the background on photoshop very well. However, as it was lowered and the original photo had the top of her hair cut off, i had to fill it in with a black brush tool then blur the edges to make it look less edited.

Magazine Proposal Prensentation and Audience Feedback
My audience feedback on my proposal
My audience feedback from my proposal overall thought that my presentation was good in regards to my colour scheme, featured artists and target audience, however there was a few things I could improve on. For example; considering that my target audience is mainly the working class of are either a young or middle age, I have decided to take advantage of how popular technology has become through smartphones and social networking sites to benefit my magazine. I plan to create an app and Facebook page in order to ensure that people are constantly updated with information on my magazine. As my target audience is majorly black Afro-Caribbean’s, I will include information and artists that I would appeal and relate to their lifestyle in order to keep them interested. My audience liked how I had included all the possible names for my masthead, and I have chosen to call my magazine ‘PRESTIGE’ as it was the most popular option. My audience liked how I applied my knowledge from my case studies and agreed with my choice of colour scheme as it was very popular in R&B magazines. As my magazine is new to the urban music genre, I do not plan on wasting resources making a magazine with 60 pages if there is no guarantee that I will make a profit, this is why I have chosen to include only has 29 pages at a price of £2.99. However to make up for having a lower priced magazine, I plan on also making my magazine an E-zine to increase publicity for my magazine to make it more well-known and hopefully get paid to include advertisements of other companies in my magazine.

LSC Magazine & Audience Feedback and Evaluation
Audience feedback and evaluation
The photography for my magazine was one of my strength’s as the images were clear, well organised and had a variety of settings and people included. The use of several images on my contents page meant that it was immediately made more visually captivating than if I used one. The image I used for my front cover was a medium close up which my audience commented that it was good use of direct mode of address, as it meant that the audience would feel a connection with the model as he was looking directly at them. I didn't edit my image for the front cover except from cropping it to a medium close up, however in my music magazine, I plan to use shallow depth of field in order to put the main focus on the person in the image. The teasers/cover lines I used were good as they were interesting and attracted the audience to read my magazine as they were appealing to the target audience. However I could have improved by making the teasers font much smaller as they take away the audiences focus from the model in the image and were too distracting. The colour scheme for the individual front page and contents page were matching however they were not consistent for my magazine overall. This meant that it looked less professional as they were not co-ordinated together. The masthead of my magazine was bold and the largest font on the front page; this was a strength because it caught the audience’s attention and it is the name they need to remember in order to keep buying my magazine. The layout of my magazine was neat and well organised which meant that it made my magazine look professional. For my contents page, I used bigger fonts and capitals on what I wanted the audience to focus mainly on, this is a strength as it meant that all the important information was acknowledged. To improve, I could put the page numbers next to the images they link to as it would make it easier to understand and follow for my audience. The pictures I used for my contents page were not very bright therefore they’re not as eye-catching, to improve this I could make sure the lighting is better so that my pictures come out bright and clear.
For my main magazine I will make sure I;
- Choose a more captivating masthead
- Have a consistent and more co-ordinated colour scheme
- Use a smaller font for my teasers/cover lines
